Chiostro in fiera - fiori

“Cloister at the Fair” takes place in one of Milan’s most beautiful cloisters and gardens, the Diocesan Museum, which welcomes visitors on the weekend of 24/26 May. On its eighth edition, the event hosts the High crafts market show, with the aim to raise funds to support the Museum’s cultural activities.

Inside the garden brimming with charm you will find bags, shoes, jewelry, costumes, beauty products, plants and flowers from the Orticola nurserymen, delights and delicacies of small farms of the territory, objects and textiles for the home. At Bazar, the handicraft market, there are eighty exhibitors. There’s something for everyone. Even bicycles and cycle mechanics, closer to the male world, and a children’s program which includes workshops and games like treasure hunt in teams organized by Ad Artem on Saturday afternoon. With the initiative “Let’s color the spring” children can experiment with different techniques of design, from colored pencils to pastels, to create compositions to take home as a souvenir. Or engage in the construction of the dream city by participating in the laboratory of architecture “Cityplay – The city that I want,” proposed by ScatolAperta: with cardboard boxes and recycled materials you can create models in three dimensions of new ideas for the urban space.

The program is really rich: it includes the play “Recycling is magic” meetings to discuss mental well-being with the association Assomensana, the workshop for adults “Cup Cake Design” to learn how to cook theme cakes with floral decorations, and the Bicycle Station: to learn all the secrets of the bicycle, for example how to make a bookshelf out of a traditional rickshaw. In order not to miss the opportunity to participate in courses and workshops it is advisable to inquire and book in advance.

The entrance to “Cloister at the Fair” allows you visit the exhibitions held at the Museum “Vincenzo Foppa – Three crucifixes”, “Mario Raciti. Works 1962-2012”, as well as the permanent collections.

The inauguration will take place Thursday, May 23 from 18.30 to 22. In the following days, until Sunday, May 26, the visiting begins at 10.30 am.
