Learning by eating, Masters of Food & Wine at Park Hyatt Milan

Master Food and Wine

An invitation to discover flavors, ingredients and fragrances of traditional Italian cuisine, to become proficient gourmets. This is the proposal of Park Hyatt in Milan that has organized the Masters of Food & Wine, four meetings scheduled on the change of season to discover the excellence of Made in Italy.

 A reservation is needed to participate in the Masters of Food & Wine weekends, the groups will be of up to twenty people. Guests of these routes of taste will have the opportunity to learn how to make good grocery shopping, and get to know wines, beers and high quality products thanks to the leadership of the young Michelin-starred chef of the Vun restaurant, Andrea Aprea.

On Saturdays, during a delicious excursion they will learn the secrets to choosing the raw materials as well as how and where does the quality come from and, as we learn eating, they will always taste it all on Sundays, in a delightful theme-brunch under the Hotel dome.

On March 23, within “Olive Oil, Wine and Fish of Lake Garda”, there will be a meeting with Gianni Briarava on the Salò lake promenade. He is the CEO of “Slow Food” of Garda and will outline the fish species of the lake and the type of fishing there practiced. To follow Ugo Caldera, from the Caldera Olive Oil Company of Sirmione, a true excellence of the territory, will have everybody taste a selection of oils while he illustrates the various olive types and the processing. Then off to Desenzano del Garda to visit  the Provenza farm, one of the most important of the area, which consists of four farmsteads, including one from 1710.

Fabio Contado, the President, will lead the group in the products tasting.

At the end of the visit Andrea Aprea will prepare some local fish specialties from Lake Garda in the cellar kitchen.

Sunday, March 24 the appointment is in the ‘Dome’ hotel lobby lounge from 12:30 to 15:30, for a nice lunch prepared with Garda products. There will be a buffet of appetizers and desserts, and hot dishes will be prepared à la minute by the chef.
